Baldur's Gate: Faces of Good and Evil

Nicely done, yet rather meagre fayre.

£1.59 for three human men and three human women is OK if you want to add more of the less ugly avatars for your character creation to choose from. However, there are dozens of portraits available online for nowt. Ignore the naysayers bashing BG Enhanced Edition, I own all the enhanced versions and contrary to popular belief they arte like the original yet cleaner looking graphics and a myriad of squashed bugs fixed than the originals. Clearly the old Infinity Engine you can only do so much, yet the difference is night and day. For those new to Baldur's Gate entirely, get the Enhanced, there are ongoing patches and support is great.

Wizardry 8

You'll get lost in Wiz IIX !

As much as I have a soft spot for this RPG, you will take a looooong time to complete it and do the story justice, as it is VAST. The characterisation is deep, the voiceacting great, the puzzles fiendish, and combat a breeze. Lovely. If you like uber graphics like Skyrim and Mass Effect you may be disappointed in this, with its heavy emphasis on character, deep plot and wit. If you love a good story you may well find this appealing. However, I bought it when it first came out and I've still not got round to completing this Epic tale.
